The new benchmark for luxury electric cars? 2023 Mercedes EQS EV review (AMG 53)

There are plenty of ways to measure which electric car is the benchmark – but the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 could be the measure for luxury EV motoring.

If a high-tech cabin space, smooth as butter electric vehicle styling and more screens than you thought possible or necessary is your measure of a high-end prestige experience in 2023, then you’re going to be impressed.

But there are other ways that the new 2023 EQS sedan ticks the box – especially considering the version launching in Australia is the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ model.

As such, it’s the latest pure electric offering from Mercedes-Benz; it has to represent the future of the historic S-Class limousine; and the AMG 53 version we get to kick things off in Australia also needs to stand on its own four wheels when it comes to driving.
