The Limpopo Health Department has confirmed a case of Monkey Pox in the province – in a 42-year-old male tourist from Switzerland. The department says, however, that the person is not suffering from severe disease. The case brings the total number of infections in the country to three.
Last month, the National Health Laboratory Service announced that a 30-year-old Johannesburg man had tested positive and had no travel history.
A week later, a 32-year-old man from Cape Town who also has no travel history tested positive for Monkey Pox. Monkey Pox is a viral disease that causes flu-like symptoms and skin lesions.
