Flying Furnace, Chicken Sword, and Nemesis Cat - Ancient Wars: Caesar

“Attack! To the last archer, to the last stone!”

Shields clash, the smell of iron fills the air. commander cyrus looked once more at the worn map in his hand.

“generals! we must take that bridge, or our food supply...”

His aide, a young warrior named blaze, interrupted him.

“The supply isn't the problem, cyrus, the real problem is that massive, glowing, magenta-pink object on the bridge.”

cyrus angrily folded the map.

“What object, blaze? This is a historical battle, what's with the magenta-pink objects?”

“It looks like an oven, sir. But it's flying. And there's a cat inside.”

They both stopped and stared. Indeed, suspended right over the wooden bridge in front of the enemy base, defying gravity, was a glowing oven. And inside sat a cat wearing a helmet, sunglasses, and a mustache.

“We’re changing tactics,” cyrus said, frowning. “Tell the archery unit to only aim their arrows at the cat. blaze, call our resource specialist, oskar.”

A few minutes later, oskar rushed over. He had a giant bag on his back and a bottle of bright, green liquid in his hand.

“I found a resource, commander! A super-rare resource: energy drink! Perfect for strategic maneuvers.”

cyrus rolled his eyes.

“It's an energy drink, oskar. What's the connection?”

“But this is a special energy drink, cyrus! If you drink it before battle, everything in your inventory... whatever it may be... doubles for twenty-four hours!”

cyrus gave him a skeptical look.

“And what about the cat?”

“That cat... that cat is the general of generals, nemesis! That oven is his mobile headquarters! Whoever defeats him gains the secret power of the war!” oskar whispered.

blaze nervously looked at the cat. The cat, at that moment, pulled out a selfie stick from inside the oven and struck a pose.

“Alright then,” cyrus said with determination. “Everyone take a sip of the energy drink. Maybe blaze will be twice as funny. We're bringing down the oven!”

After everyone drank the liquid, they felt a strange burst of energy. blaze’s sword suddenly began to glow in the shape of a chicken leg. oskar’s bag turned into an infinite source of balloons. As for cyrus, when he put on his glasses, he saw a secret weak point on the map: a small 'for sale' sign hanging under the oven.

“That sign!” cyrus shouted. “That's a weakness! oskar, distract him with the balloons! blaze, cut the sign with your chicken sword!”

blaze ran towards the bridge, swinging his chicken sword. oskar hurled giant balloons towards the oven. nemesis the cat, surprised, brought a paw up to his helmet.

“Balloons? Are you serious?”

Just as blaze was about to reach the sign, the cat pressed a small button next to the oven. The oven suddenly began to shoot out bright, three-dimensional, giant 'like' buttons. The buttons were destroying everything they hit.

“No! It’s a like-bomb!” cyrus yelled.

blaze barely managed to throw himself to the ground, his chicken sword flying out of his hand. nemesis the cat grinned maliciously.

“The resources of this war are purely social media, kids! Now, time to shoot a reels for my channel.”

cyrus quickly threw the last energy drink bottle to the ground. The bottle, by chance, hit the oven's control panel and crushed a cat-specific button. The oven shook. nemesis the cat's glasses fell off.

“What have you done! Now... now... the oven’s engine will run in reverse!”

The oven began to spin incredibly fast around itself. nemesis the cat screamed from inside.

“The war is over! The oven is teleporting us to an unknown location!”

The entire army began to be pulled towards the magenta-pink vortex created by the oven. Before losing consciousness, cyrus heard nemesis the cat’s final words:

“In my next video, watch how I conquer a giant pizza!”

cyrus opened his eyes. The surroundings were a deserted beach. blaze and oskar lay unconscious beside him. He looked at the sky. The sky, instead of orange... was green.

blaze groaned and sat up.

“Where... where did that cat leave us?”

oskar took a handful of sand from his bag and smelled it.

“This sand... this sand is gold! I guess our resource problem is solved, but... where are we, cyrus? Where did the oven throw us?”

cyrus, looking up at the green sky, tasted the sand.

“I don't know. But I think this was just the beginning.”
